Commands

Discord only shows people the commands they're allowed to run. Owner commands appear for members with the Manage Server permission. Staff commands appear for members with Moderate Members. The server owner and Administrators can run everything.

Most of what you'll do day to day doesn't need a command at all. You can just tell your employee in its private channel. See Talking to your employee.

• /help: a short summary of what your employee does and its main commands. Private reply.
• /rules: posts your server's rulebook in the channel, visible to everyone. If the rulebook is too long for one Discord message, it shows as many rules as fit and notes how many there are in total. If it's using its starter baseline because it couldn't find your rules, the reply says so. If there's no rulebook at all, you get a private note instead. See Your rules.

• /rename name: changes your employee's name and its nickname in your server, up to 32 characters. The confirmation is visible in the channel. It doesn't rename its private channel; do that in the channel's settings if you want. Your employee gets its first name when you hire it from the name picker. See Getting started.
• /relearn: takes a fresh look at your server and refreshes its understanding of your server's culture. It posts what it found in its private channel with Confirm and Cancel, and nothing changes until you confirm. Your rules and calibrations aren't touched. Only works after you've hired it. Private reply.
• /avatar [image]: gives your employee its own profile picture in your server. Attach a PNG, JPG or GIF. Run it with no image to reset to its default look: the intern badge before you hire it, the full Staffd badge after. Once you've set your own picture, it isn't changed at hire. Private reply.
• /welcome on:true|false [channel]: turns new-member welcomes on or off. Pick a text channel to post them in, or leave it empty and it picks your entry channel itself. If it can't post in the channel you pick, it tells you what access it needs and leaves welcomes as they were. Welcomes only go out once it's hired. Private reply. See Welcoming new members.
• /testwelcome: posts a sample welcome aimed at you in your welcome channel, so you can see what new members will get. The sample itself is public in that channel. Only works after you've hired it.
• /upgrade: gives you the checkout link to hire your employee full-time, with the plan your server's activity fits. If you're already subscribed, it links to the billing portal instead. Only works after you've hired it. Always a private reply. See The trial, hiring and billing.

All three staff commands reply privately.

• /history user: shows a member's record: how many times they've been flagged, what happened with those flags (warned, deleted, timed out, dismissed) and their most recent flags with reasons. A member who has never been flagged shows as a clean record, even if staff have logged warnings or notes on them with /warn or /note.
• /warn user [reason]: logs a warning on a member's record, with an optional short reason. It only records the warning. Nothing is posted to the member. To warn someone in the channel, use Warn on a flag card. See How moderation works.
• /note user text: logs a private note on a member's record. Notes aren't shown to the member, and they aren't shown in /history.

• Before you hire it: /relearn, /testwelcome and /upgrade ask you to finish setting it up first.
• If setup is stuck on missing permissions: any command replies privately with what's missing. See Permissions.
• If it's off the clock after the trial: every command except /upgrade replies privately that it's off the clock. /upgrade still works, so you can bring it back.
• If it has reached its monthly reading limit: /relearn can't run until the limit resets. /testwelcome still posts, though the sample may be a plain greeting rather than one in your server's voice.
